SICK LEAVE NOW REQUIRED IN MASSACHUSETTS
By David R. Fletcher, Jul. 1st, 2015

Effective July 1, 2015 businesses in Massachusetts with 11 or more employments must begin accruing sick leave for full and part-time employees and temporary employees. The law requires accruing 1 hour sick time for every 30 hours worked upto a maximum of 40 hours. Businesses with sick leave policies already in place are covered under safe harbor regulations. Please click on the following link to review these regulations.

Businesses with fewer than 11 employees are required to allow unpaid sick time off.
